Community Weekly
Welcome to our Community Weekly resource page |
Are there things you do and say as a Catholic, but never really understood well? This is your opportunity to learn a little more about the Sunday Gospel and our Catholic traditions.
We hope these brief resources will be useful to families and individuals. We've included a small activity children can do with your help, a reflection suitable for the drive to school or work, and some fun facts for parents who want to give their children the best gift of all - an open door to God's love and blessing.
Note from the author: We've had to discontinue production of our Community Weeklies in favour of other priorities, but we leave these posted here as an example of what's possible. If your parish would like to see more of these, kindly let us know at the Office of Faith Formation.
Come on in!
(see below for prior editions of Community Weekly)
We try to include as much as we can in these single page weeklies, but you will find references to two very important Catholic sources we hope everyone has in their home: The Bible (Scriptures, Old and New Testament, Word of God, Gospel, etc.), and the Catechism of the Catholic Church (indicated by "CCC" and followed by a number which will lead you to a specific paragraph).
Not as great as holding the Word of God in your hand, but here's a digital copy of the Bible for those in need. If you have a question about your Catholic faith, try this online copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church or give up a meal for two at any fast food restaurant and use that $20 to bring more than 2,000 years of the collective wisdom of the the Church into your home in an easy-to-read format. For an even easier read, try the YouCat, a contemporary "catechism" for youth and young adults, also available at your local Christian bookstore.
